CNBC expands into Taiwan

TAIPEI - Business news broadcaster CNBC has expanded its Asia-Pacific network by launching in Taiwan via Taiwan Mobile's TFN Media platform.

The channel will be available to subscribers through TFN’s recently implemented cable service, New TV.

Jacqueline Lam, head of network distribution at CNBC Asia-Pacific, indicated in the statement that further distribution expansion was planned in the region in the near future.

TFN Media president James Jeng described the launch of New TV as representative of the firm’s “determination to become more than just a telecommunications company”.

The organisation is aiming to build a subscription base of 100,000 over the coming three years.
