Casbaa unveils speaker lineup for November convention

MUMBAI: The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (Casbaa) has come out with its first release of speakers for the Casbaa Convention 2009.
The convention will be held from 3-6 November in Hong Kong.
Themed  Extending your reach, the Casbaa Convention will look into Asia to  uniteindustry experts from satellite, cable TV, broadband, content  providers, online platforms, telecom, technology, advertising and  regulatory bodies across Asia’s 14 markets and more than 300 million  subscribers.
The speaker line up includes UTV Software  Communications CEO and founder Ronnie Screwvala, Fox International  Channels and National Geographic Channels Worldwide CEO David  Haslingden, Foxtel CEO Kim Williams, Discovery COO Mark Hollinger and  ESPN International executive VP, MD Russell Wolff.
The  three-day programme will cover presentations and CEO dialogues on topics  such as reaping the dividends from digital broadcasting, the changing  role of telecom operators and advertising trends for broadcast, online  and mobile programming platforms.
Meanwhile, the panels will  examine the impact of new technologies on media consumption,  co-operation between content providers and pay-TV operators to maximise  their revenues, pay-TV opportunities in developing markets and the next  consumer digital experience.
The convention is being  sponsored by Arianespace, Bloomberg Television, CNBC, HBO, Invest Hong  Kong, Measat, Qualcomm MediaFlo Technologies, NDS Group, Oracle  Communications, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison, Playboy,  PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sony Pictures Television (SPT), Synovate, Turner  and TV5Monde.
