Australia Ad Revenues Up

Subscription TV advertising revenues increased by 3.6% in 2011 to $393.7m according to figures from ASTRA.

In the last six months of 2011, revenues rose by 3.75% to $213.6m compared to the previous corresponding period. Petra Buchanan, CEO at ASTRA said: “Despite current economic conditions and continued caution in the market, the STV industry continues to attract increased advertising expenditure, up 3.75% from 2010 to 2011. “Greater premium quality content and a strong commitment to innovation enable STV to continue to satisfy consumer demand and evolve with viewing habits.  This enables advertisers to identify and strategically target relevant audiences with an extensive range of communications opportunities and interactive tools which deliver engaging brand experiences,” said Buchanan. "Subscription TV reaches over seven million people weekly, with 200 genre specifi c channels ranging from documentary to lifestyle to sport.”
