China’s OVS Ad Revenue to Outperform TV by 2015

Chinese online video industry saw general revenues of RMB2.99 billion (US$0.47 billion) in the second quarter, a year-on-year increase of 102%, according to iResearch.

Advertising contributed the major part, earning RMB2.35 billion (US$0.37 billion) rising 128.1% year-on-year.

iResearch Analyst Cao Junbo said online video ad revenues surpassed those of traditional newspapers 5 years ago.

Thus it is possible that online video ad revenues would exceed TV by 2015, forecasts Cao.
