Australia: Group M predicts ad growth for 2013

After recent gloomy outlooks on media spending Group M is predicting a bounce for the market of 6.5% in 2013.

The media group’s latest This Year, Next Year report shows an anticipated jump for the next year, with limited growth of 1.6% for the whole of 2012.

They follow a gloomy set of Standard Media Index figures last week showing a 7% retraction for the month for media agency spend.

Leading the charge will be mobile, which will double its reach, and digital and outdoor, which are expected to grow another 18%.

While TV and radio are expected to leap by 5 and 5.1% respectively, the decline is expected to continue for magazines with a 4.5% dip, although newspapers could remain stagnant.
