Sony's beTV Picks Up New Season of Sherlock

Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia has acquired the third season of the hit BBC drama series Sherlock for its beTV channel.

The series' second season was a hit with viewers, as the finale was the number one broadcast for English general-entertainment channels in Singapore. Filming on season three kicks off early next year.

“beTV offers the best of light entertainment and we are delighted that viewers have responded so positively to Sherlock,” said Ricky Ow, the executive VP of Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia. “The current U.K. adaptation has a winning formula—a cast with brilliant acting chops, and an equally outstanding script writer. Viewers can expect even more of this exceptional storytelling in season three.”
