CSM Media Research is a joint venture between CTR Market Research and the Kantar Media. Dedicated to TV & radio audience measurement research, CSM Media Research offers reliable and uninterrupted rating information for Hong Kong SAR and China. CSM Media Research operates the world's largest TV & radio audience measurement panel network. CSM’s TV audience measurement network provides data that represents the viewing of 1.25 billion people in China and 6.4 million people in Hong Kong SAR. The radio network represents the listening of 1.55 billion people in China. CSM’s operation covers 224 individual markets, with some 62,500 homes and 206,250 panelists participating in the measurement of over 1,262 main channels and 422 radio frequencies, every day of the year.

Audience Measurement

TAM: CSM is China’s leading TV ratings data provider. Since its inception in 1996, CSM has built a nationally representative panel, 25 provincial panels and 161 city panels (including 4 Municipalities) to meet the disparate needs of data users in China.

RAM: CSM began its pioneering role in RAM with radio audience measurement tests in 2000. Now CSM provides radio ratings sweep data in 10 cities and 3 province, and uninterrupted data in 23 cities and 1 province..

New Media Research: CSM's investigation of New Media can be traced 2002 and now includes insight into Internet, LCD TV (in office/residential building, in retail outlets and outdoors), Mobile TV (bus/subway/train TV), IPTV and Mobile Phone TV media.

Sports Marketing Research: In 2002, CSM introduced TNS Sport’s, sports and sponsorship research expertise to China. Now Kantar Media Sports China ( Former TNS Sport China) provides sports sponsorship research services for over 50 key sports events in China & Asia.Industry Reports: In order to support China’s media industry needs, CSM publishes a series of added value reports, such as the "China Media Industry Report Series." These reports leverage CSM’s local media experience and in-depth understanding of trends to deliver insights into the Chinese media industry.
