GEM TV Asia, from Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia, will become available as part of now TV’s Asia Entertainment Pack from this October. The new channel features exclusive first-run dramas, comedies and variety entertainment shows from Japan, South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Viewers can watch prime-time dramas within the same week of their initial broadcast in Japan. A stellar lineup of drama includes “Angel Heart”, starring award-winning actor Takaya Kamikawa, and “Death Note”, a television adaption of the worldwide hit manga franchise starring Japanese idols Masataka Kubota and Kento Yamazaki. GEM TV Asia will also screen a succession of Japanese variety programs including “EXIT!”, a highly-successful and exhilarating game show; “Masquerade”, the wackiest long-running Japanese game show since 1979; and “MOCO’s Kitchen”, a top-rated cookery show hosted by actor Mocomichi Hayami. The channel offers a catch-up feature available on-demand, plus the option to view programming using the now Player app on a mobile device.
now Entertainment Channel today becomes a new drama-centric channel to serve those Hong Kong viewers who enjoy marathon viewing with the hottest drama series from Korea, Japan and Taiwan. now Entertainment Channel features Asian dramas which premiere exclusively in Hong Kong. First-run dramas in September include Korean drama “Remember You” starring Seo In-guk and Jang Na-ra, and Japanese drama “Tamiou” starring Endou Kenichi. now Entertainment Channel content will be broadcast in their original soundtracks, with the convenience of onscreen subtitles in traditional Chinese. The channel also offers an SVOD feature supported by the now Player app, along with a selection of premium content available from now TV’s video-on-demand service.
