HONG KONG, May 10, 2013 – now TV, Hong Kong’s largest quadruple-play pay-TV provider, has launched now Baogu Movie Channel in Malaysia on HyppTV, Telekom Malaysia’s IPTV platform, following its recent launch in Singapore.
now Baogu Movie Channel joins now International, now Mango and now HaiRun, which debuted on HyppTV last October.
now Baogu Movie Channel, jointly launched by now TV, Huayi Brothers, Peter Chan’s Shine Focus and Edko Films, broadcasts first-run blockbusters from Huayi Brothers, WE PICTURES and Edko Films exclusively, plus first-run local and Asian top-class movies acquired from other content providers. Films that have been lined up for now Baogu Movies Channel include Cold War, winners of nine awards at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Award; Finding Mr. Right, with over RMB 500 million box office in the Mainland; Back to 1924, a historical film directed by renowned Chinese director Feng Xiaogang; Night Fall, starred by Best Actor Nick Cheung and Simon Yam; and Love, starred by Vicki Zhao, Shu Qi, Ethan Ruan and Mark Chao.
Apart from movies, now Baogu Movie Channel provides infotainment about movie culture. Its infotainment programs include behind-the-scene of the latest movies, exclusive interviews with renowned producers and superstars, new directors’ productions and movie production programs hosted by accomplished movie practitioners.
