Hathway Cable’s drive to lift ARPU by creating packages using Star channels

03/12/2014, MUMBAI: Hathway Cable & Datacom has made a feeble effort to increase the average revenue per user (ARPU) of its base pack in the digital addressable system (DAS) areas, but it expects its subscribers to move to higher value bundles that contain some of the sports and English channels from Star India.

Pressured to create packages after Star India decided to offer its channels to all multi-system operators (MSOs) only on reference interconnect offer (RIO) rates, Hathway has priced its base pack in the DAS areas at a monthly per-subscriber fee of Rs 230.
