Singapore, March 2, 2015 – Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP), a division of the number-one pay-TV programmer Discovery Communications, today announced the appointment of Hee-Man Lee as country manager, Korea, effective March 2, 2015. Lee is based in Seoul.
Reporting to Tommy Lin, senior vice president and general manager, North Asia, Lee will oversee DNAP’s operations in Korea and develop new business initiatives and growth opportunities for the portfolio of networks. He is also tasked with managing the local affiliate and ad sales business, and further establishing DNAP’s profile.
“With his years of broadcast industry experience and business acumen, Hee-Man is extremely well-placed to lead DNAP’s operations in Korea, as we look to invest, deepen our local presence, grow audience share, and leverage opportunities in this key market,” said Lin.
Lee has more than ten years’ experience in the broadcast and telco industry, with a background in engineering. He comes to DNAP from KT Media Hub, where he headed the new business division and was responsible for the launch of the company’s play-out services. Prior to that, he was vice president of KT’s Smart Learning department and oversaw the management of three of its business units. Lee was also responsible for directing projects and developing long-term business strategy and vision for Samsung SDS.

March 3, 2015 – HONG KONG – FOX International Channels (FIC) has acquired the highly-anticipated series Battle Creek, a new show helmed by the creators of Breaking Bad and House, M.D., and is being carried by FIC’s flagship entertainment channel, FOX. FIC signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television for Battle Creek to be shown on FOX across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, where the premiere episode of the series aired last night on March 2, 2015, day & date with the US.
Battle Creek is the latest brainchild of Vince Gilligan, creator of the hit show Breaking Bad, and David Shore, creator of the ground breaking series House M.D. , and chronicles the exploits of police detective Russ Agnew and FBI agent Milton Chamberlain in Battle Creek, Michigan. Agnew and Chamberlain, played by actors Dean Winters and Josh Duhamel, respectively, make unlikely partners who have to combine their different skill sets to battle crime successfully. Luxembourg, 2 March 2015 – SES (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) announced today that Christophe De Hauwer has been appointed by the Board of Directors of SES as Chief Development Officer (CDO) and member of the company’s Executive Committee, effective 1 August 2015.
Christophe De Hauwer will succeed Gerson Souto, the company’s current CDO, who has decided to step down from his position for personal reasons and relocate to Brazil, his home country. Gerson will continue to advise SES and work with the Executive Committee on development projects in Latin America and elsewhere.
Christophe will officially take up the position of CDO on 1 August 2015. He has been with the Company for over 10 years, holding several positions of responsibility in the areas of Strategic Marketing, Strategic and Business Planning and Corporate Development. In his current role of Senior Vice President, Fleet Development and Yield Management, Christophe oversees the overall optimization of the entire SES satellite fleet and its future development.
Christophe also played an instrumental role in the acquisition of New Skies (2005), the GE share redemption (2007) and the investment in O3b Networks (2009). Since 2010, he has served as a board member of O3b Networks. Prior to joining SES, Christophe was a consultant, first at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and later at Deloitte & Touche. Christophe is a Belgian national and holds an Engineering Degree and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Brussels in Belgium.
Gerson Souto has been with SES for more than 16 years and has been an Executive Committee member and Chief Development Officer since 2011. Previously, he was a member of the Management Committee of SES NEW SKIES and later of SES WORLD SKIES.
