Discovery Appoints Jonathan Mills as Vice President, Corporate Development

Appointment of highly experienced corporate finance professional boosts Discovery’s non-organic growth capabilities in Asia-Pacific

MillsSingapore, 24 March 2016 – Discovery Communications has named Jonathan Mills as Vice President, Corporate Development, effective 28 March. Reporting to Michael Lang, Discovery’s newly appointed Executive Vice President of International Development & Digital, Mills will work closely with Arthur Bastings, President and Managing Director of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, and his leadership team to lead the development and execution of Discovery’s non-organic growth and partnership goals across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Mills’ remit includes managing the execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and other equity-related transactions.

Mills was most recently with WPP as Associate Director, Corporate Development, leading transactions in the digital media, technology, advertising and marketing services sectors. During the nine years he spent with them, he developed, managed and completed numerous deals across Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa. Since relocating to Singapore in 2011, he has completed acquisitions, investments and joint ventures, throughout the Asia-Pacific region, in markets including China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Pakistan and Mongolia. Prior to WPP, Mills worked in M&A at Credit Suisse.

Mills earned his MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
