Turner seals partnership with globe telecom to launch Cartoon Network on mobile

Philippines’ No. 1 kids channel will be available to Globe customers through the Cartoon Network Watch and Play and Cartoon Network Anything apps

MANILA, July 14, 2016 – Turner Asia Pacific and Globe Telecom, the Philippines’ No. 1 mobile brand, have announced that two upgraded Cartoon Network apps will soon be made available to Globe customers.

An authenticated version of the Cartoon Network Watch and Play app unlocks its full functionality, including a live stream of the channel and additional video-on-demand content. Cartoon Network Anything will also be bundled, showcasing the network’s best short-form content on mobile devices.

Phil Nelson, Turner’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia, said: “Cartoon Network Anything and Cartoon Network Watch and Play are two of our most popular apps with very good reason. They capture the best of the Cartoon Network brand and deliver captivating content – games, video and quirky quizzes – across mobile devices. Offered to Globe customers, these products provide a convenient avenue for Filipinos to enjoy the most popular kids’ content wherever they are, and in a safe and flexible way.”

As part of Globe Telecom’s mission to give its customers the widest variety of entertainment, it has partnered with the country’s No. 1 kids’ channel. This year, Cartoon Network also ranks as a top-5 channel across all genres* – such is the local appetite for cartoons and a brand of entertainment that the whole family enjoys.

Globe Chief Commercial Officer, Albert De Larrazabal, added that, “Globe strives to provide the best service that includes premium entertainment from strong international partnerships like Turner’s Cartoon Network. We look forward to the many possibilities this partnership offers as both companies are committed to provide valued customers with a unique digital entertainment experience. Moving forward, customers can also expect more good news from Globe and Cartoon Network.”
