Viewers can catch the Season 1 Finale on Sunday, 6 July at 9pm (SG/PH)
Singapore, 3 July 2014 – Before the first season has even ended, E! has announced a second season renewal of hit original Asian reality series It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez.
Season two will see the family deal with even more excitement and drama. Will Richard and Sarah’s relationship move any closer to marriage? Viewers will also get to watch as Raymond takes his hosting career to the next level and Ruffa’s long-distance relationship continues to progress. Just how far will things go? And will the family be welcoming another baby in the near future?
“The early renewal of It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez demonstrates NBCUniversal’s continued commitment to invest in local productions that are relevant and resonate with our audiences in the region,” said Christine Fellowes, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Universal Networks International. “We look forward to building on this tremendous success with the Gutierrez family in season two”.
It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez broke ratings records throughout its run, becoming the channel’s most watched program in the Philippines since January 2013. At its peak, the series made E! the number one channel during the show’s 9-9:30pm timeslot among key demographics (Total Viewers, Adult 16+, Women 16+) out of 24 English general entertainment/lifestyle channels in the Philippines. The series also performed well in Malaysia, where it ranked as the number two program on E! for the week of 15 to 21 June.
The season finale on 6 July follows the aftermath of Richard and Raymond’s heated argument at the dinner table. Meanwhile, the family’s South East Asia vacation ends on a high note as they explore the fun-filled attractions at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. The excitement continues back in Manila, where the family celebrates Ruffa’s fabulous 40th birthday bash, as well as an adorable safari-themed party for baby Zion.
It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez is the first-ever international reality series for E!, NBCUniversal’s pop culture powerhouse. The production marks E!’s commitment to invest in locally relevant original content for its global audience. Building on its forte of celebrity based reality series about pop culture icons, the channel is now building another monumental superstar family reality franchise in Asia with the Gutierrezes. The sizzling, six-episode series gives viewers unfiltered access to the fabulously dramatic lives of the Gutierrez family. Members of this sensational showbiz clan include former beauty queen Ruffa, her twin brothers – screen superstar Richard and funny fashionista Raymond – and their parents, industry legend/matinee idol Eddie and political aspirant/talent manager Annabelle.
