NBCUniversal International’s Syfy launches on Sri Lanka’s Dialog TV on 1 May, marking the channel’s entry to South Asia

NBCU RGB 123Singapore, 30 April 2015 – Syfy, NBCUniversal International’s signature channel for imagination-based entertainment, launches on Sri Lanka’s Dialog TV platform on 1 May 2015. The launch marks Syfy’s entry into the South Asia region and gives NBCUniversal International’s channels’ portfolio a full presence in the Sri Lankan market. Dialog TV currently carries Syfy’s sister channels – leading women’s entertainment channel DIVA, pop culture powerhouse E! and global flagship brand Universal Channel.

“We are excited to work with one of our leading partners in Sri Lanka for the launch of our globally iconic Syfy brand. This is a momentous occasion for the channel brand as it becomes available in South Asia for the very first time,” said Christine Fellowes, Managing Director, Universal Networks International, Asia-Pacific. “The launch of Syfy on Dialog TV is a testament to the channel’s strength in delivering a unique value proposition for subscribers, as well as Dialog TV’s commitment to curating compelling content that cannot be found elsewhere.”

Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Dialog TV subscribers will have access to the likes of world-famous movies such as Sharknado 3, a disaster film and pop culture phenomenon that returns for a third installment in July; acclaimed original series Dark Matter (from the creators of cult sci-fi hit Stargate) and Dominion (based on the post-apocalyptic movie Legion); as well as original Asian production The Paranormal Zone, which explores some of Asia’s spookiest locations. Other exciting programming on Syfy includes the action-packed anime Supernatural: The Animation and the fascinating reality series, Heroes of Cosplay.
