Hong Kong’s Black Box Problem

CASBAA lauded Hong Kong Customs’ successful raids recently on suppliers of a pirate TV box service (read more here) but has joined with other copyright industry stakeholders in Hong Kong in a letter urging that the government begin considering now the next steps in enhancing enforcement against “Black Box” streaming media devices. “In-Home” Use of C-band Not a Practical Solution

Singapore’s IDA had asked in a public consultation if C-band frequencies should be allocated purely for indoor use. CASBAA took the position that such use would still create unacceptable interference with satellite signals. Download CASBAA’s submission here.
